Red lines show the where two different sections are cut

1.50 scale / I have included insulation into the walls and floor of the kitchen. In the original kitchen there was no insulation, and as a result the building lost a lot of heating energy. The wall now consists of CMU brick, insulation and then finally red brick, this trio gives the kitchen the enough strength and insulation to cut energy large losses.

1.50 scale / I have included I-beams to support the new extension. I have especially put in place a portal frame to support where the original kitchen end wall used to be placed, to give extra support to the rest of the building set above it.

In this render there is a black wall, which will be painted with blackboard chalk pain. This is because I intend for the client and household occupants to draw over the wall with chalk. This is intended to be a fun and interactive part of my kitchen design.

In this render, I am showing how I have tried to bring as much light into kitchen, as well as directing the outside light into the next store living room area. I have tried to do this by angling one of the sky lights, so light would filter into the next store area.

In the centre island unit I have included an wine cooler rack unit.

The overhead hanging lights are a mixture of NUD CLASSIC Ceiling pendants & Large quad loop Light bulbs - 40W / E27 screw.

V lux angled sky light This skylight is meant to angle light into the living room next store, as the new kitchen extension has taken away the living rooms window light.

Paid Architectural Work
Battersea, London, Kitchen Extension Project
22 Candahar Rd Kitchen Extension Project. Duration 3 months. 90k project cost.
For this project I collaborated with Premier Loft, a local building company. My task was to provide a set of drawings and designs for my family house.
The idea was to create a new kitchen extension that turned the original one into a spacious modern design, with the intention of letting in vast amounts of light into the new and existing areas. This was accomplished by introducing sky lights and large glass bi-folding doors that entered into the garden. The outside garden and garden corridor was knocked down to create large quanties of space needed for the new extension.
The thought behind the design was to introduce a stylish touch to an existing dull, basic kitchen. I used existing pictures, paintings, old and newly bought furniture to introduce into the new kitchen and I incorporated them into the design by placing them in my renders. Some of these are slightly different to the final result.
Despite the project running 10k over the original 80k budget, it was a success and did not run into many problems throughout its duration.
